Reggie (Regenald) Porter was your average 19 year old guy. As far as he was concerned, he was too average.

Like most males his age, he was very interested in the opposite sex, but due to his awkwardness, shyness, and his skin problem(cystic acne), he did not get much play. His confidence level was his biggest deterant; it was non-existant.

While his intellect was definitely above average, his physical form was lacking. At a whopping 5'6 and 135 lbs, he wasn't exactly seen as a manly man.

His posture was bad, and his hair was long, brown, and stringy. He had brown eyes, and stained teeth from his coffee consumption. He dressed like an average teen, in jeans and t-shirts. Even his intellect which could have been seen as an attribute, was hidden from most people.

Sick and tired of his situation, and not sure what to do, he was startled and excited to see an ad in the Daily Planet about clinical trials being conducted by Awakenings, Inc. It seems they were asking for volunteers to participate in a study that would "greatly improve the human condition, as well as unlock the key to everyman's potential."

This was exactly the kind of thing Reggie was dreaming about. Being approved by the corporation, after many extensive blood, physical, and mental tests, Reggie is made a member of the final approved group. These people are taken into the main facility and brought to the 'operation room'.

The idea behind the experiment was to take normal non-meta people, and graft meta DNA onto their own. The end result is suppossed to give the person some sort of super human abilites, but the process was unpredictable and dangerous. If the subjects survive, there is honestly no way to know what powers they will recieve. If their system rejects the new DNA, the subjects often die.

To say that the proccess was painful would be a huge understatement, but to Reggie, it was worth every second of the unbearable pain.

Normal awkward Reggie Porter stepped into the operation room that day, but someone else completely walked out. This man was 6'4, short stylish black hair, striking green eyes, and he had perfect skin, teeth, and bone structure. His body almost had a sculpted look, and he was completely toned. Not only that, but he found through clinical tests folloing the procedure that he had also aquired some subtle powers. By concentrating on improving himself, he can actually 'boost' his natural abilites. For instance, if he sees some people trapped under rubble, if he is not strong enough to lift it, he can concentrate and gain more strength to accomplish his task.

 His handlers from Awakenings Inc, after many tests, have determined that Reggie would make a great spokesperson for the project. His new found charm, attractiveness, confidence, and boosted intelligence make him the perfect mouth piece for the project, and the new 'superteam' being put together as the public face of Awakenings Inc.
