    About this game

This is just a test of the Infrno system for use with Dark Heresy, Deathwatch, and potential Rogue Trader games.

    Premise

Based in the Warhammer 40K Universe, so if you've ever played the RTS or the table-top you know that it's dark, depraved, and deadly.  Dark Heresy, which is mainly what we'll be playing, focuses on a group of Acolytes who are apart of the Inquisition, a group that is devoted to routing out dangers within the Imperium of Man in the form of Heresy (Ordo Hereticus), daemons (Ordo Mallus), and aliens (Ordo Xenos).  As such, you are given quite a bit of play and the fear and respect that the Inquisition instills upon others is ever present. That being said, it is still very possible to blunder and get your limbs blown off. Classes range from the intellectual, investigation based Adept to the all-out fighter Guardsman, although even they can add some insight if war is related to the task at hand.

    Style of play

Dark Heresy = Investigative/Combat.  Some aspects border on survival-horror, some on straight combat. There is a strong feeling of RP'ing throughout the whole of it though. You have to act the part to advance, essentially. Classes are very open to customization, to the extent that pretty much every class can do everything, but some are bit better than others at specifics, i.e. a Guardsman (basically a fighter) can easily walk down the path of being a heavy-weapon wielding shoot-first-ask-questions-later type, whereas a Psyker (basically a caster) CAN, but will have a hard time of it.

Deathwatch = Combat, with a little bit of investigation. Tougher to RP as Space Marine's tend to be one-dimensional zealous killing machines. Most of hte characterization comes from the specific Chapter you're character comes from. Death is considerably harder. As a Space Marine you are a part-god cybernetically enchanced heavily armed/armored destroyer of your enemies.  What an Acolyte in Dark Heresy would have a tough time killing one of, you kill 10 of in one fell swoop. Which just of course means that you'll be going up against tougher more epic enemies.  There is also a unqiue mechanic in play, which changes depending on how well you're group leader can issue commands...
