Style of play
DnD 3.5, casual rules
Perrenland has a mandatory 1 year of service for all able bodied men to serve in the military (in which they obtain their 1st level for most people)..
Alternatively, for those adventurers that opt out (or kicked out) of this former service (for whatever reason) or after they completed this service there is the 13 Canton Valor Trials, in which an individual or a party must get a seal from every Canton which can be obtained by performing heroic duties in each Canton. The seal is to be given by the leader of each Canton, and is totally at their discretion as to what is deamed worthy of it..
For any party who completes all 13 Canton valor trials, they are awarded with the Perrenland Valor medal, and awarded 10000 gold pieces (if a party obtains the seals, then the gold is divided among the party members).
There have been a select few adventurer parties that have completed the Valor trials (most Cantons think of it positively since they are few that persevere (or survive) to perform all 13 Cantons therefore the rewards of a seal can be relatively cheap for the times that they fork 1/13th as the share of the rewards.
