"'Investment?'  Is that what you are calling your son, 'Dalilah'?" replied Bane noting Scandals use of an alias.

"Biologically he may be my son, but emotionally he is no more than a means to an end... you find this distasteful?" asked Scandal

Band chuckled mirthlessly, "I find much about you distasteful Scandal, but you are a product of your upbringing, and I can hardly blame you for desiring the destruction of your father."

Now it was Scandal's turn to laugh, "We have much in common, you and I.  Both of us are products of our fathers, both of us hate our fathers, and both of us are ruthless."

"I am ruthless when I must be, but we are not the same.  It is true that I hate my father for what he is, but I will not become what he was.  You, on the other hand, must become your father in order to destroy him.  You have turned your own son into a weapon in order to achieve your goal, just as Vandal did with you.  I find I have more in common with the boy than with you." Reasoned Bane.

"You are very astute Bane, but again, I am paying you to be my insurance policy not my conscience.  You will observe, protect, teach and if it becomes necessary, destroy the Black Scarab." snapped Scandal

"As you wish Senora.  And what of the Secret Sentinels?"

"They are of no concern to me... unless of course they get in the way, in which case..."
