    About

With more than ten years in the hobby gaming industry, Patrick Kapera is best known as the co-creator of the award-winning Spycraft roleplaying game and its many offshoots, including the Stargate SG-1 RPG. He was a staff writer, editor, developer, and brand manager for Alderac Entertainment Group, Inc. until the fall of 2005, when he and two fellow designers struck out on their own to form Crafty Games, the new home for the Spycraft RPG (the next evolution of modern roleplaying), and Fantasy Craft (the ultimate high adventure toolbox).

Patrick has worked on many acclaimed games, including Legend of the Five Rings, 7th Sea, Doomtown, When Darkness Comes, and the Battlestar Galactica RPG. He’s been nominated for the Diana Jones Award for Gaming Excellence, received multiple Origin Award and ENnie Award nods, and won the Out of the Box and Inquest Fan Awards for Best Roleplaying Game. His mind wanders but he's filed a missing persons report and he hopes that someday it will return.

    Insult to Injury

The others press on as I lick my wounds and try to cover our tracks. It isn't long before one the patrol we avoided comes looking, and I duck into one of the escape bod pays, scarmbling for options. The patrol lifts the alien's body onto a litter, one of...

    And... Scene (almost)

Alaric's not looking well, so I take the lead as we delve deeper into the ship, through the personal quarters. It looks like these were ransacked by the strange men who just attacked us. Before long we come by a room with a ravaged corpse laying against the door. Boring...

    Belly of the Beast

That's a big hangar bay! The cargo containers might explode? Don't touch those. Got it. Xander's hand is a glow stick? Good to know. The airlock will be messy, huh? Define "messy." More chance of an explosion? Is everything in here an inch from blowing up? Life support appears to...

  • Summoned today by Confessor Dominus, whose taste in drink is admirable. He wants us to investigate a Space Hulk that appears dead in space near the Mortressa "death world." We've been given little information about the world or the Hulk but Dominus seems to ahve a strong interest in our...

    Datalog 8093.9: Realignments and Recalculations

After completing several errands I initially miscalculated as fools' deeds, we have embarked on our mission for Mistress Veil. We are to eradicate a camp of Jedi training on the jungle planet of Felucia, which appears to be teeming with so much Force as to block remote projections. Most of...

Check out The Hand in the characters section.  The booth demo characters should be stat-complete. :)

Lookin' good! The art's a bit rasterized at full size, though. What resolution and format is it?

128 x128, 127 dpi.  .PNG I hope to be able to have lots of visible space for larger combat areas, so that's why the smaller tokens.

I basically used RP Tools - Token creator.  I drag-and-drop'd the image from the Iconics PDF to the token creator.  Once that was done, I opened the .png file and colorized them. I can clean them up a bit but I wanted to try the size/shapes out before going too much farther.

    www.rptools.net is the site.

I created a game for FC and put in a generic map using Dungeon Creator 1 (most stable version that I know).  I then tried some different tokens and images.  It should be unlocked so you can play around in it.

Having a bit of trouble with our FTP server at the moment but as soon as that's sorted I'll send you source files so you can create separate images for the tokens vs. the character pages (and both will look nice in their native environments). Watch your email for details.

"Hey Guys, sorry for the delay!  Real life got busy.

I'm going to setup a demo for Thursday October 28th starting at 6:00pm EST (GMT -5?).  It should only run 2hrs at most.  If I am right on the time, I may run another one at 8:00pm EST.

I have pregenerated characters on here already, just look for Fantasy Craft and (short) in the characters section and you should find them.  I don't mind if people double up on a character since this is a very basic demo.

Assuming this demo day goes okay, I'll set something up for a weekend day.
